Database Specialist/Designer, SQL & Data Analysis + Financial Sector e

Projektbeschreibung
An exciting opportunity is currently available in Luxembourg for an English-speaking DATABASE SPECIALIST. This position is located in the Public Sector.
Applicants should have work experience abroad and in multicultural environments. Willingness to attend a face-to-face interview in Luxembourg is mandatory.
The successful candidate will be in charge of providing support to other teams for developing a reporting data model and database. The candidate will be requested to advice on the structure to be given to the data and provide technical expertise on database settings and data extraction.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Design data model for ALM data.
- Import of data from other sources (Murex, etc.).
- Analysis of end users' data and calculation requirements.
- Develop and test standard reports to meet data extraction needs.
- Perform one off extractions and data analysis work as required.
- Work pro-actively with other departments to enable reuse of data wherever possible.
- Document solution and provide user guides, similar reference material both for end users and support personnel.
- Liaise with IT department to ensure work done is in line with strategic objectives for Financial Reporting.
Specific requirements:
- University degree.
- At least five years of relevant experience in database development, data analysis, designing stand alone databases and reporting solutions.
- 3+ years in a leading consulting firm or financial institution.
- Previous experience in the Financial sector preferred and/or in an international company and multinational team.
- Excellent command of the MS Office package especially Access and Excel.
- Excellent communications and presentation skills, to be able to inform and persuade both orally and in writing.
- Ability to manage own work and provide regular updates to stakeholders, ability to manage expectations.
- Good knowledge of SQL and data analysis.
- Experience of structured analysis and testing methodologies.
- Experience of other RDBMS - Oracle, Sybase, etc..
Language requirements:
- Fluent in English is a requirement, any other European language is an advantage
This position is offered as a freelance contract, for a duration of 3 months. Extensions are likely.
