My client in the financial sector and based in Brussels has an urgent requirement for a Database expert for a 6 month contract but with the possibility of further extensions after the initial period.
Applicants are expected to have 5+ years experience with MS SQL Server (from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012) and display strong operational focus including security, patch revision control, performance management/tuning, high availability and licensing.
This Database team is responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including production support and also supporting the development and enhancement of applications.
Candidates will be involved in Software installation, Release management, Upgrade/migrations of databases, Day-to-day administration of the infrastructure, Disaster recovery plans, Defining standards and guidelines, Security of SQL Servers, Replication of data, Performance tuning and assessment and implementation of new technologies and providing IT with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities.
Candidates will also be expected to participate in an on call rota of approximately 7- 10 days a month.
The business language is English and this is potentially a long term contract with a major financial institution within an excellent working environment.
