Database Engineer

We are currently searching for a DATABASE ENGINEER to work in Geneva, Switzerland. This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a multi-national client.

The ideal candidate must have the following skills:

ESSENTIAL:

- A minimum of 3 years of professional database design, development, and implementation on DBMS, explicitly on DB2 and/or SQL Server 2005-2008 R2
- Significant experience in enterprise Datamodelling
- Expertise in relational databases, BIDS and experience with Power Designer or similar modelling tools
- Experience with ETL tools, data cleansing tools, customized web reporting
- Experience in agile development is desired
- Significant experience in enterprise Datamodelling

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

- Excellent interpersonal and communications kills, written and oral
- Proven ability to work both independently and in team-based environment
- Must be able to facilitate clarification of customer requirements as well as systems/software architecture and design
- BA/BS degree in data administration or information technology

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design, implement and manage large-scale, high-volume relational database systems
- Design, implement and develop ETL integration processes between operational systems and enterprise Datawarehouse
- Datamodelling - logical and physical design
- Ensure data quality through development and testing best practices
- Participating in technical design and code reviews for all new enhancements
- Participating in collaborative work with DBA's, Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts and Project Managers to achieve software solutions
- Ensure a high quality product is delivered
