The contract is with a large consultancy in Brussels to be on an assignment at a large European site (DG DEVCO)
DG DEVCO has created a number of IT Systems to support the implementation of the development of the European Union. Currently, the following systems are developed or have been developed:
The CRIS System managing financial data (contracts, invoices, payments ) and operational data (call for tenders, call for proposals, evaluations, framework contracts ). CRIS is tightly integrated with the Commission accounting system (ABAC) for all financial transactions. The PCM Platform: currently CRIS does not cover the entire life cycle of EuropAid actions. Therefore, a new Project called Project Lyfecycle Management (PCM) was launched in 2009 to support the Identification & Formulation process and Evaluation of projects.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implementation and maintenance of database layer of multi-tears applications. Data analysis, Datamodelling. Development and maintenance of database stored procedures. Database configuration and optimisation. Database integration with applications Execution of database test programs. Definition and integration of database components.Physical database design. Writing of technical documentation. Assistance with deployment and configuration of the Database. Participation in meetings with project teams.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of JAVA 7 & JEE principles. In-depth knowledge of Web development.In-depth knowledge of Spring 3 (IOC, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC).Good knowledge of design patterns.Good knowledge of Hibernate & JPA.Good knowledge of Oracle & PL/SQL. Good knowledge of Web services (REST).Good knowledge of HTML & JavaScript & jquery. Good knowledge of GIT.Good knowledge of Junit. Good knowledge of Maven. Knowledge of JEE scheduling (Quartz). Knowledge of Web services (SOAP). Knowledge of JSON. Knowledge of XML. Knowledge of JSP. Knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tier web applications. Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments. Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication. Good knowledge of English. Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment, rapid selfstarting capability and experience in working in team. Capability to write technical analysis.
Optional Skills Knowledge in AngularJs. Knowledge of Hermes/ARES/HRS. Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM. Knowledge of JIRA/Confluence Knowledge of Spring data. Knowledge of Selenium. Knowledge of Mockito. Knowledge of UML.
