Database Architect

Seeking to engage a Data Architect in a project to build out a metrics and measures data model, as well as provide guidance on the overall data model for enterprise data management efforts going forward. Seeking a TECHNICAL EXPERT IN THE FIELD OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE, ENTERPRISE DATA MANAGEMENT (EDM), AND DATA MODELLING to augment our current capacity and capability.  This individual would also be an excellent team player with the ability to coach and mentor our existing staff. 

Major responsibilities include:

- Assist the Tech EDM team in identifying the best technical approach to capturing qualitative and quantitative data for metrics and measures;
- Provide hands on support in the design, development, testing, and roll out of the data models, and dashboards and reports for our metrics and measures associated with our strategic business plans;
- Assist in the identification of processes and tools for data modelling, data integration, database design, data maintenance, and data transformation for the  Tech EDM projects;
- Document data models and processes needed for design, development, testing, and roll out of data models going forwar
- Review other projects beyond the metrics and measures project to determine data model and data architecture needs- assist with documentation of current and future states and the roadmap and plans to move Tech to the future state.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Ability to analyze existing ETL code in PL/SQL, Shell script or Perl, and T-SQL to determine impacts and remediation.
- Ability to analyze existing database schema DDL/instance layout and determine impacts migrating to new target schema/instance environment.
- Database data security and design best practices.
- Experience with ETL processes using PL/SQL, T-SQL, and an ETL tool such as SSIS, Data Stage, or SAS Data Integration Studio.
- Logical, conceptual, and physical dimensional modelling experience with a tool such as Toad Data Modeler, Erwin, or Enterprise Architect.
