Database Architect

Our client is a hugely popular computer components manufacturer looking for someone with strong software and database architecture skills. The primary role of the successful candidate will be to take on the new Linux/Windows projects and design/architect database and software. This role will also be hands-on and write code as needed. S/He will be Involved in daily SCRUM, sprint planning and backlog grooming sessions and help with technical issues.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with a well-founded background in software engineering
- 6-8 years of software engineering or technical lead role
- 4-6 years of Database Architect experience
- Experience/knowledge architecting enterprise applications and databases
- Strong understanding and ability to architect databases and software solutions for cloud based systems
- Strong understanding of database concepts (MySQL, SQL Server 2008)
- Must be able to setup BI using SSRS or equivalent 3rd party tools with a SQL Server or MySQL database
- Data Warehousing and Data Integration experience using Microsoft SSIS or other 3rd party tools
- Experience designing solutions for cloud based applications
- Experience designing software and databases that has scalability, performance, reliability, security and availability built-in
- Strong understanding and knowledge of LAMP
- Should be able to come up with high level design documents and recommendations for development team based on understanding the business requirements
- Ability to participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning meetings and provide input on technical implementation
- Good knowledge of Linux and Windows technologies
- Structural thinking, results orientation and assumed responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills and be able to work and interact with several teams and stakeholders

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience working with phone based applications/OS
- Understanding of Secure Development Lifecycle concepts
- Proficiency in software design patterns
- Proficiency in developing software using C#, C/C++ in a Linux/Windows environment
- Strong understanding of web technologies and tools (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, web sockets, Python), web services (SOAP and REST), Protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, etc.)
- Networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, WiFi, routing basics)
