Database Analyst II

We have an exciting opening for a DATABASE ANALYST II position with our progressive client in the Columbia, SC area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-- DBA is responsible for performing application database administration for mission critical, high volume test and production databases.
-- DBA will write scripts to automate various tasks and use utilities to migrate data, manage physical database objects and monitor the health of the database environment.
-- Define data architecture standards for the organization, structure, attributes, and nomenclature of data elements.
-- Design, develop, test, and implement new database objects (tables, views, indexes, databases, etc) and administer existing architectures supported for performance and maintenance related issues.
-- Analyze and recommend best practice steps to prevent potential database issues, such as performance degradation or potential loss of service and well as recommend actions to fix issues when database problems do occur (outages or potential errors). Recommend methods to recover or improve databases to include analysis/review of vendor products.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

-- Experience in Application Database Performance Analysis and Tuning
-- Experience in Application Database Security Hardening
-- Experience in Database Security Vulnerability Assessment, Review and Remediation
-- Experience in Database Audit Support; Database Backups, Image Copies and Recoveries
-- Experience in Database Reorganizations
-- Experience in Database Monitoring Configuration and Implementation
-- Experience in Database Operational Status Monitoring
-- Experience in Application Database Standards Development and Maintenance
-- Experience in Application Database Change Coordination and Management
-- Experience in Application Database Development Support
-- Experience in Application Database Incident/Problem Support
-- Experience in creating and maintaining Oracle Tables, Views, Tablespaces, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Functions.
-- Experience with SQL Server 2008 and/or SQL Server 2012.
- Experience migrating entire databases and individual database objects to new environments and database instances.
-- Experience with Oracle and/or DB2 LUW is a plus. (HIGHLY DESIRED)
