Database Analyst I

We have an exciting opening for a DATABASE ANALYST I position with our progressive client in the Columbia, SC area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-- This position is responsible for DB2 Host Database Administration including creation, maintenance, monitoring, performance & tuning, recovery, security, and data support. Application and customer service support must be timely and accurate for minimal outage impact.
-- There are no direct responsibilities for budget or corporate planning. However, the candidate will participate in project planning which will serve corporate strategic goals.
-- Identify opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trends in data uses, and single sources of data.
-- Plan, design, enforce, and audit security policies and procedures that safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files, and data elements. Evaluate and recommend security products, services, and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

-- IT experience including varied database administration experience (5 YEARS) REQUIRED
-- Strong DBA who has experience with DB2 Host Database Administration experience to include experience with creation, maintenance, monitoring, performance & tuning, recovery, security, and data support (REQUIRED)
-- DB2 on z/OS administration experience (REQUIRED)

Note: The Sr. DBA experience needed for this DB2 z/OS position does not allow an elongated training window. Manager needs a contractor who can get up to speed quickly as pending projects demand.

-- Strong skills in the areas of communication, organization, problem solving, and performance resolution.
-- Ability to apply technical solutions to complex problems or projects.
-- InfoSphere QREP (QueueReplication) and/or CDC (Change Data Capture) experience is HIGHLY DESIRABLE.
