Database Analyst (DBA) Job

JUNIOR DATABASE ANALYST AND ORACLE DBA needed for a CONTRACT opportunity for Yoh's client in King of Prussia, PA.

THE BIG PICTURE:

- Working in a team environment and with Oracle PL/SQL and Java developers, you'll provide Business Intelligence reporting and database administration and support to business users of Oracle systems. You'll gain a fundamental understanding of core business processes and key technology best practices and platforms. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is willing to make the leap into becoming an Oracle DBA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Develop, implement, configure, and support Oracle database systems and software applications.
- Monitor and proactively support Oracle system/application capacity planning and analysis.
- Understand IT best practices around ITIL/SDLC frameworks.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Oracle database systems.
- Provide direction and guidance to other BI and Database Support Analysts.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, resolve and document reported incidents.
- Communicate effectively with Business Units, Team Leads and IT Management to implement, support, and monitor defined applications.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- One to five (1-5) years in an IT role, preferably database, CRM, BI, or ERP application support
- Understanding of Decision Support Systems and Enterprise reporting
- Extreme confidence in abilities
- Proficient in one or more relational database such as Oracle or MS SQL Server
- Extensive experience using SQL to develop queries
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling
- Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills, but with a service-oriented attitude
- Ability to effectively communicate with Business Units, Team Leads and IT Management to implement, support, and monitor data warehouse and reporting systems
- Plus, but not required:

Knowledge of BI Reporting Tools, for example, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, COGNOS, Hyperion, or Microsoft SSRS.
