JOB TITLE: SR. DATA ANALYST

DURATION: 6 MONTHS TEMP TO HIRE

Location: Aliso Viejo, CA

This is a six month temp to hire opportunity. The manager prefers local candidates. THE CANDIDATE COULD POSSIBLY TRAVEL TO FL FOR TRAINING FOR ONE WEEK. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE STRONG EXPERIENCE WITH DATA GOVERNANCE AND EXPERIENCE WITH LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM OR LABORATORY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM WITH A CBIP CERTIFICATION.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position is responsible for ongoing analysis of health care information, obtained from a variety of sources, including patient care, financial, and demographic data. It involves development and preparation of information products for association staff and members. It requires the ability to analyze health care data from conceptualization through presentation of the data. It requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service..

- Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests
- Define, implement Data Governance program as scoped in planned projects
- Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analysing and presenting data
- Use and support database applications and analytical tools: evaluate data quality, applications, and functions, produce output, maintain operation
- Research new data sources and analytical tools; contribute to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
- Interview business users to obtain and document data requirements for transactional and analytic applications
- Participate in Data Governance program definition and implementation
- Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor's Degree WITH minimum 5 years of experience within IT
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Data Warehousing environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst/Data Architect
- Demonstrated experience using advanced Excel features and techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data.
- Physical ability to use computer hardware and software required.

DESIRED: (DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS)

- Experience with database query development (such as Microsoft SQL Server) desirable.
- Familiarity with various types and sources of health care information, including financial and patient-level data files.
- Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analysing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment.
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels
