Database Adnministrator

Database Administrator - Basel, 9months +

My client is looking for a Database Administrator to join their team on a long term contract in Basel. Your role will be to monitor database performance and look for opportunities in which to optimize performance. You will also be expected to maintain the databases to ensure data integrity, as well as troubleshooting when required.

Essential Experience:
- 5+ years as an Oracle Database Administrator
- 5+ years in at least one of the following:
- Oracle Enterprise Server 10.2, 11.1 and 11.2:
- Real application cluster (RAC)
- Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Performance analyzer
- Database security (Enterprise User Security, Auditing, ACLs)
- Database performance tuning
- Problem troubleshooting
- Proactive monitoring via OEM or custom scripts
- Replication including designing for conflict avoidance and conflict resolution
- RMAN, flashback, snapshots.
- SQL and PL/SQL language knowledge
- Ability to understand the impact of problems on overall database performance
- UNIX and Linux operating systems (Shell Scripting capabilities is a plus)
- Knowledge of one of the following is preferable:
- Oracle Streams
- Oracle GoldenGate
- Oracle Data Guard
- Oracle APEX
- Fluent in English.

This is a contract that will extend well beyond the 9 months listed, and is an excellent opportunity as it is with one of the worlds leading pharmaceutical companies.
