Database Administrators

Our client, a large Government Department is seeking to engage multiple DATABASE ADMINISTRATORS until June 2013.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE\'S WILL HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

- Minimum 2 years experience in the administration of one or more of the following DBMS: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, IMS, Object Star, Adabas Natural on Mainframe, UNIX and Windows.
- Extensive experience in the use of DBA tools such as CA, BMC, IBM and Compuware as well as the maintenance of these tools ie installs, fix-packs and upgrades.
- Skilled in the installation of new DBMS instances and creation of DBMS objects.
- Ability to contribute to policies, strategies, standards and guidelines for day-to-day and future operations.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

- Solid Mainframe/Midrange Database Administration experience in a large Government or Private organisation.
- Strong problem solving and database monitoring skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a strong team utilising a collaborative approach to day to day work and continuous improvement.
- Time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
