Title: Database Administrator for DB2 for LUW
Duration: Contract- 12 months
Location: Atlanta, GA 30309 (Midtown)

Our client is seeking a Database Administrator for a 12 month contract position in the Midtown Atlanta area.  The candidate's primary responsibility will be the creation, maintenance and support of highly-available, reliable OLTP DB2 LUW databases in a manner consistent with established change control policies and prescribed procedures. Candidate will be expected to rotate on call duties and work overtime when need arises.

- 4-year College Degree preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
- 4+ years as DB2 LUW DBA
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an operational DBA  
- IBM Certified Database Administrator - DB2 V9 or DB2 V10 for Linux, UNIX and Windows.
- IBM Certified Advanced Database Administrator - DB2 Linux, UNIX, and Windows.
- Knowledge of AIX Operating System.
- Advanced DB2 Linux, Unix, and Windows Database Administration Skills including logical and physical database design, installation, configuration, monitoring, server performance tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance, recovery and security.
- Ability to design, implement and test business continuity and disaster recovery strategies for DB2 UDB LUW databases.  
- Proven ability to investigate and analyze problems using diagnostic tools, to document problems and work with application teams and vendor support to resolve problems.
