Database Administrator - 12 Month Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced Database Administrators within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide expert knowledge and experience on the following Database Systems; SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, Sybase, IMS and Object Star. Assist management in all technical aspects of the above on Windows, Unix, AIX and Mainframe environments.

SKILLS:

- Minimum 10 years experience as a Database Administrator in large corporations or government agencies;
- Extensive experience in DB2 on Mainframe, Unix and Windows;
- Experience in Oracle and SQL Server in large scale implementations;
- Able to provide expert technical advice to on a range of database issues including best practice, licensing and performance etc;
- High level of communication skills enabling meaningful explanation of technical concepts to senior management; and
- Work within a team to deliver well researched and pragmatic solutions to complex database issues.
