Must have skills:
8+ years hands-on experience with Oracle Databases; 5+ years as a DBA, Unix Shell Scripting, Database performance tuning, PL/SQL coding. Understanding around network functionality pertaining to database functioning.

Job Description:
The main function of the Database Administrator is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems. S/He is typically responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing database security measures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems
- Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
- Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations
- Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems
- Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
- Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 8+ years hands-on experience with Oracle, with detailed understanding of internals GoldenGate replication (Required)
- Experience with BACKUP/RECOVERY for Oracle databases (Required)
- Experience with Oracle 11gR2, RAC, installation, performance tuning (Required)
- Bachelor degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent (Required)
- Extremely honed problem-solving and debugging ability (Required)
- Proficiency in BASH Scripting (Required) and one of Perl/Python/PHP (nice to have)
- Familiarity with regular expressions for pattern matching and replacement (nice to have)
- Understanding of both OLTP and OLAP concepts (nice to have)
- Oracle Certifications valued (nice to have)
- Understanding of Java, MySQL (nice to have)
- Understanding of Hadoop and Map/Reduce concepts (nice to have)
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one s time (Required)
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required)
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software (Required)
