Database Administrator

Database Administrator - Dublin - 6 month contract €£170 - 190 per day

Working as a Database Administrator for our client who are a global technology company you will be designing, planning and implementing most aspects of database management and may begin to specialise in one aspect of database management such as data administration, web connectivity, physical structure, logical design, SQL and SQL applications, or overall architecture and database analysis.

Planning and configuring the physical and logical database environment. Evaluating and recommending the purchase and utilisation of software products to assist in the management of data. Planning, installation and maintenance of DBMS software. Diagnosing problems and determining resolution for applications and system software. Measuring DMBS performance and modifying system level configuration to optimise performance. Maintaining physical integrity of all production databases. Performing regularly scheduled verification procedures and correcting errors. Acting as technical resource in identifying alternative methods and procedures. Consistently providing guidance and project direction to less experienced team members and anticipating business constraints. Broad knowledge of database principles and practices required. Broad knowledge of database definition, design, and configuration. Competent to work in most phases of Client Server relational database management. You'll need experience in Oracle Design and Development and PL/SQL
