Database Administration and Support - Production Support - Contract

SYBASE - ORACLE - SOLARIS - SQL - DATABASE

ROLE

Global International Investment Bank is looking for an experienced DBA and live production support analyst. Due to increased front and Middle Office application implementations an addition technology resource has become business critical.

- Required to provide Database Administration and Technical Support, with responsibility for the delivery of reliable, highly available and high performance environments. Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, and troubleshoot all Database Environments and Database based Applications.
- Conduct Performance Monitoring/Tuning and Capacity Monitoring/Planning.

REQUIREMENTS

- Solid SYBASE Database Administration in a live Production environment
- Support experience
- ORACLE Database Administration in a live Production environment
- Experience of working in a FINANCIAL SERVICEs firm
- Excellent knowledge of Sybase (inc. 12.5 AND 15) running on SOLARIS
- Excellent knowledge of ORACLE (release 10G AND ABOVE) running on SOLARIS
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL server
- Good practical knowledge and experience of Database Performance Monitoring and Tuning Utilities and Commands
- Sufficient Solaris experience to perform the DBA Functions competently
- Good SHELL SCRIPTING Skills
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent Communications Skills
