Data Warehouser - Immediate Start - June 2013 Contract

A fantastic opportunity has become available for experienced Data Warehousers within a Government Department for a long-term contract role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage and support DW infrastructure and software in a complex, multi platform, outsourced environment;
- Install, monitor, administer, trouble shoot and tune the following products: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 & 2008, Cognos 8.x Business Intelligence product suite, Cognos 7.x PowerPlay, Informatica PowerCenter 8.x ETL, Lumigent AuditDB 6.x., and Microsoft Visual software tools, including Source Safe
- Planning and monitoring of hardware and software environments;
- Support the Senior Systems Analyst/ETL Developer in running and monitoring weekly and monthly ETL processing;
- Oversee software development, testing and maintenance for the following; Windows environment Scripting using Batch,VBscript Multiple Java based independent application environments; Visual Basic, .NET and C# for web based systems; SQL Server stored procedures;
- Transfer relevant knowledge gained in all avenues of Datawarehouse Systems Administration to permanent members of the team in a timely manner and on a regular basis; and
- Work with product designers, technical leads and architects within the branch and provide input to architectural and design documentation.

SKILLS:

- Demonstrated experience in managing and supporting Datawarehouse infrastructure and software in a complex, multi platform, outsourced environment;
- Demonstrated experience in installing, monitoring, administering, troubleshooting and tuning the following products: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 & 2008, Cognos 8.x Business Intelligence product suite, Cognos 7.x PowerPlay, Informatica PowerCenter 8.x ETL, Lumigent AuditDB 6.x., and Microsoft Visual software tools, including Source Safe and
- Proven knowledge of data warehousing environments, principles and methodologies.
