Data Warehouse Technical Analyst

For one of our client based in Brussels and active in the travel industry we are looking for a Business Intelligence Technical Analyst specialised in Data Warehouse technologies.

MAIN OBJECTIVE/CONTEXT
Within Global Technology, the Product Development team is in charge of developing the company's Global Information Systems and maintaining them aligned with company's business needs.
To achieve this mission, the team is leading projects from business requirements gathering to project delivery.
In the scope of a large Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence project, the Business Intelligence Technical Analyst is mainly responsible for ensuring that the end-user needs and requirements presented by the Product Owners are correctly recorded, analyzed, developed and implemented in our solutions.
The Business Intelligence Technical Analyst will be a member of an Agile Scrum Team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Analyze and document requirements for custom solutions for our internal and external clients
- Establish initial high level requirement documentation based on business requirements for estimation purposes (BRS)
- Analyze the high level requirements for feasibility in view of:

Current Data Warehouse and Data Mart tables using SQL querying skills
Legacy systems
- Refine high level requirements into actionable technical requirements that will be the inputs for the development team for implementation
- Drive the requirement review process
- Provide support through the implementation of the technical requirements
- Liaise with Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure requirement compliance and test coverage during Test Plan reviews
- When required provide support for the User Acceptance Testing process
- When possible propose wireframe design for UIs in case of end user facing features

Integrate with an Agile Scrum team
- Effectively communicate with the rest of the Scrum team (Product Owner, Developer, QA, and other Business Analysts).
- Provide update on performed and upcoming activities as well as known impediment/issues
- Express issues in a clear, consistent and understandable manner (written, verbal)
- Take ownership of all assigned tasks and project related assignments.
- Ensure direct communication over email/ticketing chain to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.

Specific skills
- Proven Track record capturing Business High level requirement all the way to technical requirements actionable by development teams
- Ability to drive the requirements review/acceptance process
- Ability to act as referent for Dev and QA resources during the development life cycle from initial requirement review to production support.
- Ability to review test plans for coverage and support UAT activities
- Proficient with a broad set of authoring tool set: MS Office suite including Visio, Wiki

Date warehouse experience
SQL proficient (Oracle preferably)
Ability to navigate and perform data profiling on data warehousing tables (* and Snowflake)
Comfortable reading data models and understand data modelling principles normalization,cardinalities...)
Ability to review existing data elements vs. business requirements and propose: Direct use of existing Data Marts
Highlight missing Data Elements
Moderate the discussion between Arch, Dev and Product Ownership to find the best options
- Ability if required to propose data model updates to the data architect: New marts/dimensions for a specific business need.
- Ability to write retro-documentation based on undocumented Legacy system behavior a plus
- Experience working with
- Development Collaboration Suite (Rally, JIRA, HP QC, SharePoint or equivalent)
- Experience proposing end user UX to satisfy business requirements. Knowledge of a wire framing solution such as Balsamiq mockup a plus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor or Masters of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
2+ year experience in a similar role building industry proven Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence solutions.
Experience integrating in a Scrum driven development team
Multi-cultural experience on geographically distributed projects
Travel Industry related experience is a plus.
