Data Architect/Data Warehouse ETL Specialist
Location: Baltimore, MD

CONSULTING ENGAGEMENT: 6 MONTHS +

This position will assist in design, development, documentation, and management of ETL (Exchange, Transfer, Load) processes for the datawarehouses and assist with the design of technical and functional requirements for data integration projects. Will recommend best practices for design, development, and testing of ETL processes. Will support operational and business strategies. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining ETL mappings for multiple development projects. Will interact with business users and decision support staff for error resolution and design enhancements. Assist in the development of reporting and analytic solutions for the data warehouse. Will participate in data quality initiatives to profile and cleanse data prior to loading into the warehouse.

EDUCATION
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field, Masters Degree preferred

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

- Very strong knowledge of data warehouse and data management principles and processes.
- Understand ETL basic concepts of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation, change data capture, and transformation.
- Understands the range of options and best practices for common ETL design techniques including change data capture, key generation, and optimization.
- Strong SQL experience
- Strong analytical, and computational skills
- Expertise and experience in the use of an ETL development tool Business Objects Data Integrator preferred
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter, DataStage, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services is highly desired
- Significant experience with data quality, data profiling, metadata management and reporting.
- Experience with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming, query writing, query performance tuning, and database technologies.
- Knowledge of medical coding systems, ie ICD9, CPT, HCPCS, ACGs is desirable.
- Ability to read data model diagrams (ER STUDIO preferred)
- Experience as a technical lead
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
