Data Warehouse Developer & Analyst

Progressive are happy to announce this fantastic opportunity for a data centered professional;

To design, build and maintain the company's SQLServer Data Warehouse so as to ensure that all the data required from various source systems is available and appropriately structured to meet the reporting needs of the business.
Maintain all client policy data, including import, audit and reporting processes.

Key Result Areas:
Design, build and maintain appropriate database structures in the SQLServer Data Warehouse (Enterprise Model and Star Schemas) to meet the Business Objects requirements.
Design, build and maintain SQL and other processes to load data from various source systems into the Data Warehouse SQLServer databases.
Monitor the regular Data Warehouse loads to ensure completeness and integrity.
Work with Business Intelligence and other IT colleagues to migrate the databases from SQLServer 7 to SQLServer 2005 and then SQLServer 2008
Work with Operational and Commercial colleagues to understand the business information requirements and to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the information reported
Work with Business Intelligence and other IT colleagues to meet the demands of the business and to promote enhanced solutions.
Assist in the design, build and maintain Business Objects Universes where needed, to meet the ongoing reporting requirements of the business.
Work with Business Intelligence to design, build and maintain Business Object Universes in versions 6.5 and XI

Job Specific Criteria
You will need to be:
? Highly skilled in building and maintaining data warehouses (Enterprise Model and Star Schema data marts) in SQLServer.
? Highly skilled in data warehouse design and modelling
? Detailed knowledge of transactional database designs & modelling
? Skilled in Business Analysis & demonstrate an ability to understand clearly what the business information need is behind any request and shape the solution accordingly
? Highly skilled in various versions of SQLServer. SQLServer 7 to SQLServer 2008 ideally.
? Detailed knowledge and experience of SQL including an in depth knowledge of Transact-SQL, Query Analyser, DTS and Scheduler , store procedures, views, SSIS, n\software
? Knowledge of performance tuning within a SQL environment
? Experience of working with clients or third party technical departments
? Familiarity with the full Business Intelligence Project Lifecycle
? Some experience of Windows in an Active Directory environment with ability to connect to databases using ODBC and other connections.
? Knowledge and experience of a call centre environment
? Familiarity of other development languages (XML, .net, vb)
