Data Warehouse Developer

For our client a global banking company located in Zurich, Harvey Nash is looking for a IT Developer (Data Warehouse) for 12-months contract.

Key Responsibilities

. Lead technical role in implementing a global data sourcing and provisioning platform to support evolving regulatory needs for downstream GC applications providing consistent, high quality data
. Provide technical assistance to team and drive issue resolution including optimize and performance tuning
. Close collaboration with project delivery lead in every development process aspect
. Creating and maintaining target architecture vision and roadmap for big data platform migration
. Lead technical migration to the strategic data platform (big data platform) for GC

Overview of the department/team (team size, backgrounds, personalities ):

13 resources, including business analysts, application developers, and solution architects across Zurich and Bangalore and potentially Warsaw

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:

Support broad range of activities including planning, stakeholder communication, relationship management

Implement seamless migration from the classical datawarehouse platform to the big data platform

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:

1 Hands-on experience in data warehouse programming and architecture. Technical leadership experience
2 Working experience on managed EDW platforms. Profound knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter is a must
3 Hands-on experience managing large number of upstream and downstream data feeds and applications
4 Deep understanding of big data architecture, challenges and migration options
5 Hands-on experience on Cloudera Hadoop platform is a great plus

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

1 Agile development and continuous integration
2 Jira and Wiki confluence experience
3 Proven experience in technical coaching and managing medium-size (up to 20 people) distributed teams
4 Development experience on a big data platform: Kafka, Sqoop, HDFS, Spark, Python, SQL and non-SQL DB experience
5 Good interpersonal skills, able communicator, highly autonomous
