Data Warehouse Data Analyst/Modeller | Contract Position

Large Federal Government Department seeking a Data Analyst/Modeller to work with a team to develop data models and solution design for data warehouse development. To be successful in this role, you will have extensive demonstrated data analyst/modeller skills in a data warehousing context and be capable of developing dimensional models and solution designs for warehouse implementation.

THE ROLE:

- Analysis and documentation of data and development of models supporting datamarts, cubes and reporting solutions including logical, physical and dimensional data models
- Provide guidance to the Business Intelligence teams, reviewing data requirements and presenting usable solution designs
- Development of alternate data solution designs, facilitation of the selection of a solution, and ensuring the usability of the solution.
- Enhancement of procedures supporting the data warehouse modelling activities
- Analysis and identification of data integration opportunities where possible and ongoing development of conformed dimensions to be used across the warehouse
- Data profiling and data quality monitoring/escalation

THE PERSON:

- Proven experience in Datamodelling techniques, including third normal form, vault modelling, dimensional modelling, conceptual, logical and physical data models and contemporary modelling techniques
- Experience in Data Warehouse development projects specifically in the areas of scope and requirements definition, functional design, and ETL (Extract Transform Load) specification
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and proven ability in working with a mix of technical components and complex integration issues
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional technical and business stakeholder management capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and as a team member
- Desirable: Experience with ERWin Datamodelling tool.
- Desirable: Experience with metamodels and metadata management.
