Data Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Perform all business and support functions associated with the collection and quality checking of data used in the proprietary listings system.
- Major duties include researching and correcting consumer complaints, quality assurance functions, data evaluation, working with other departments during testing/loading/project planning to complete User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Other duties include auditing data sets, preparing information for clients, manual data review, and support activities for other departments.
- The data specialist is expected to make extensive phone calls to business owners to verify and enhance their business information

SKILLS:

MANDATORY SKILLS:

- AA Degree
- Ability to review data and use available tools to determine validity of listing
- Ability to provide excellent customer service while verifying listing information with a customer.
- Computer savvy and highly skilled in online research.
- Good eye for identifying trends in good or bad information.
- General knowledge of US businesses. Microsoft Word and Excel experience required.
- Intermediate Knowledge of Excel, familiar with pivot tables, vlook-up
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, ie. gather information and discuss customer complaint
- Beginning knowledge of Microsoft SQL (0 -2 years)

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Background in customer service.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, experience working with large data sets, experience within online advertising industry is a big plus
