Data Scientist - SAS - Brussels - Nov - April

For a large retailer in Brussels I am currently seeking a Data Scientist to start mid/end of November until the beginning of April 2018. You will join an existing team with a great athmosphere and culture, at the customer insights department of my client.

You are Dutch or French speaking and understand the other language.

Hard skills:

- SAS: ideally intermediate (eg: familiar with macros, handling dates, explicit/implicit conversions of data, handling logs etc).
- SQL: ideally intermediate (eg: familiar with the use of indexes and partitions)
- Python: ideally intermediate
- Analytics: For day-to-day work, basic statistical knowledge is sufficient.
- MS Office: Good beginner (eg: how to create charts & pivot tables, how to format data, prepare presentations

quickly)

- Familiar with working in a Big Data environment,
- Having a few months in Python and/or PySpark and/or Scala - the more the better.
- Knowing the pitfalls of a lazy environment.
- Knowing git (or basic Linux or Windows terminal commands)

Soft skills:

- Experience in retail is a plus
- Being pro-active & communicative
- Can deal with a very demanding environment
