YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

Within the Chief Innovation Office (CInO) of ING a new international project is launched which is the answer to one of the top priorities of ING Group. A small-dedicated team of highly skilled people will develop a new strategic capability for all ING countries. These capabilities will be tested as well with an end-to-end digital customer proposition in a European country with the potential to extend to other countries. The proposition is taking banking and consumer finance to the next level through an extreme customer oriented focus. The stand-alone team will operate in a unique space on the boundaries of a large multinational bank with an entrepreneurial attitude of a start-up. With a clear goal and timeline the challenge is to make it happen and deliver on promise.

YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION

As a (Senior) Data Scientist you work in an all-round team with IT Developers, Operations and Business colleagues to develop an outstanding customer proposition. You will be responsible to deepen the customer knowledge and use breakthrough data analyses in order enrich the value that we are delivering to our customers. We work according to a SCRUM Agile development process towards an MVP and beyond with new releases every month. This role will ask for a strategic view on the field of data analytics, which is needed in the project. The level of expertise and experience within the team will be very high which creates a very energetic atmosphere. We don't forget to have some fun while developing the proposition. You will be part of unique journey of setting up a new team and business for ING.

YOUR PROFILE

- You have completed a Master's or PhD degree with honours in Computer Science, Mathematics or in another relevant field of studies;
- You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in data/analytics;
- You have experience in one or more of the following areas of expertise: data architecture, data mining and/or data analysis;
- You have experience regarding one or more of the following specialist skills/areas:
- NOSQL, SQL, R, SAS, SPSS, Python, Matlab, etcetera
- Databases and/or data models (Graph databases, Hippocratic databases, ontologies, semantic frameworks)
- Data security and privacy (privacy-preserving datamining, data security, data provenance)
- Algorithms for data integration/capture
- Machine learning, Bayesian Analysis, EvolutionaryComputing, Neural Networks,
- Statistics (Regression, Clustering, Decision trees, Hypergraphs)
- Advanced mathematics
- Simulation, scenario analysis, Modelling
- Dutch and/or English speaking and writing
- Good social and communication skills
- Self-starting with an entrepreneurial spirit (or instance, because you once started your own business, worked at a start-up, or because you managed innovation teams within companies).
