INNOVATION DATA SCIENTIST
JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:
An Innovation Data Scientist must be highly motivated, have a proven ability and experience working with senior client stakeholders to maintain/grow a data-centric culture.
The appropriate candidate will be actively encouraged to seek innovative ideas and fresh thinking for strategic technical solutions and enhancements to business needs.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and resourceful team player who can comfortably grow into a team leadership position over a team of highly motivated individuals.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- Extensive experience in Data with a specialisation in Data Science.
- Extensive experience with statistical programming environments
- Proficiency with SQL and experience with one or more DB query clients (eg MySQL).
- Capable of analysing and manipulating data
- Experience with R, D3, Map/Reduce, HIVE/Pig, MongoDB
- Experience of applied research, experimental development and early design activities to validate/invalidate ideas.
- Experience in working on a portfolio of early stage initiatives through to successful delivery
- Experience of working on the delivery of complex programs involving multiple stakeholders across different geographical locations with a significant amount of uncertainty.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree with ideally a PhD qualification (Maths/Statistics/Innovation/Banking fields desirable)
- Experience working with innovative and emerging technologies.
- Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
