LOCATION: Brussels, Belgium

DAILY RATE: €55-65 per hour
LENGTH: 12 months

My client is a leading global technology company who are searching for 2 x Data Scientists with Machine Learning experience for a new and challenging 12 month R&D project.
You will be joining a newly formed team of expert developers, architects and scientists that are focused on exploring and improving the means of data collection for the products/devices they offer. You will be a naturally inquisitive thinker, questioning what we can learn and how we can this data to improve the UX for our customers.
This is a very exciting opportunity to start a project with a clean sheet with some of the best minds in the tech landscape. Confidence in your knowledge and passion for Data is at the heart of this role as you will be working in a collaborative environment, bouncing ideas off each other to push the boundaries of technology and direct the project to new heights.
We want to speak to well educated people with a background in Mathematics' or Data. It is vital you have experience not only building algorithms but able to provide examples of deploying them into the real world. Demonstrable experience within Data Extraction and Visualisation is advantageous.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Bachelors or Master's Degree Quantitative Discipline: Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics etc
- Experience working as a Data Scientist in a Python or R/Numpy environment
- A commercial mind set - ability to understand the Business aims behind the data needs
- Experience communicating with people of all levels - technical and non-technical
- An ability to work in teams with multiple skill sets
- Ambitious, Self-Motivated individual who can suggest and influence
DESIRABLE
- Java and/or C
- Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, Pig, Sqoop, Flume, Oozie
- NoSql (Cassandra preferred)
