Data Scientist

My client is an extremely successful media organization. They are looking for a Data Scientist that will sit within their Big Data team in Stockholm. This new role is designed to enable the Big Data team to produce analytic systems and results of the highest quality.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design algorithms, build models, and prototype solutions for multiple projects
- Use machine learning and large-scale data mining techniques

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

- Strong working knowledge of data mining algorithms
- Demonstrated working knowledge of statistical tools such as R, MATLAB, etc
- Demonstrated ability to build prototype software using any modern programming language such as Scala, Java, C++, Python, etc
- Hands-on experience building predictive models

DESIRED SKILLS:

- Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, HBase, Pig exposure
- Machine Learning exposure, especially Apache Mahout

This is a contract position based in Stockholm and offers a competitive daily rate dependent on experience of 3250 -6500 SEK.
