Data Protection Analyst 6 Month Contract Central London

DATA PROTECTION ANALYST - 6 MONTH CONTRACT - CENTRAL LONDON

Data Protection Analyst required immediately for one of the largest charities in the UK to help establish data protection processes and good practice throughout the organisation, its subsidiaries and branches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - - To review and maintain Data Protection policies and procedures, including data retention policy.
- To establish and maintain the Data Protection policies throughout the organisation, coordinating and Matrix managing staff (local data controllers) from all areas in the delivery of the Data Protection in their areas, and maintaining oversight of the process
- Monitoring compliance to data protection law and principles, and reporting regularly to the Executive Board.
- Working closely with Information Management and Technology (IM&T) colleagues to ensure systems are designed and implemented with data protection principles built in, and assisting with development of effective Information Security measures.

KEY SKILLS -

- Experience of managing compliance within a large complex organisation.
- Good knowledge of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003, including their application.
- Experience of providing advice and guidance on Data protection and related issues.
- Project or change management experience, of implementing new processes across organisations.
- Experienced in writing policies and procedures in a cogent and readable style, and of implementing.
- Demonstrates up to date knowledge of the organisation's business environment, organisation relationships, business processes and reporting.
- Experience of undertaking data compliance audits.
- Good communication skills
