Data Preparation Software Developer

The Data Preparation Software Engineer is sought in support of the software development and for management of the data productions for the other systems of the client under maintenance and for project support.

You will be required to develop the data preparation software modules and documentation changes (from specification to design, coding and testing) in collaboration with the team members of different departments.

Job Description/Project Background
* Develop software modules for the data preparation system addressing the following specific areas:
- Version Control extension: to allow the generation of different variants of the data output (according to predefined interface specifications) from the internal data sets and to maintain assurance and automatic cross checks that the particular configurations are

compatible and consistent with the data generator for each subsystem requiring data.
- Infrastructure and data validation and verification improvements: an external data server isolating externally received data which is cross checked, normalised, consolidated and stored in a database in its own schema. The new external data can then be incorporated

into the DPS, and with management facilities, to analyse the impact of changes to the data to trigger all actions needed for the transition of the data into a correct and consistent state (for each subsystem served) for operational validation.
* The above includes designing, developing, geomatric mapping, data loading, maintaining and providing support on the deployment and correct usage of the new and modified database applications components.
* Review requests for changes, clarify the understanding of the intention, perform prototyping where necessary, and create unambiguous software specifications.
* Real database application Development (no prepping)

Education
Higher Technical Education in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent professional knowledge.

Experience/Required skills
* EXPERIENCE IN DATABASE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT WITH KNOWLEDGE OF AVIATION/AIRSPACE DESIGN.
* AT LEAST 5 YEARS OF PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE IN DATAWAREHOUSE DESIGN AND DEVELOPING DATABASE APPLICATIONS IN ORACLE (INCLUDING DATA LOADING AND TRANSFORMATION PROCESSING)
* DETAILED UNDERSTANDING AND EXPERIENCE (OF AT LEAST 3 YEARS) IN EXISTING AIR TRAFFIC ENVIRONMENTAL DATAMODELLING AND ITS OPERATIONAL VALIDATION

Personal skills
* Excellent communicator, process skills and being able to influence without hierarchical force.
* Convincing personality.
