JOB TITLE: Data Performance Engineer (Hive/Hadoop)
JOB TYPE: 6 month rolling daily rate contract
INTRO: One Billion Users? Lots of data, performance & scale is key Hive is a technology that might help, right? Well only if I find someone who knows how to use it .. A global project is under way to build a DW/BI system for the next generation of products to take the company to a new level. Being part the launching team, you will build a comprehensive platform to deliver the best user experience to more than one billion users, and grow revenue from nothing to XXX dollars in less than a year.
To make this happen we are looking for a number of Data Performance contract specialists.
THE JOB:
Lead in designing and building massively scalable enterprise and analytical warehouse solutions from scratch
Lead in designing and building scalable ETL processes
Design and build terabytes data warehouse in HIVE/Hadoop
Performance tuning Legacy ETL process to reduce running time
Develop data warehousing infrastructure to inform on key metrics, recommend changes, provide personalised web page and predict future results
MySQL server performance tuning, SQL tuning, partition, optimisation, and query plan analysis
KEY SKILLS:
Hive/Hadoop Java or C+ or C# (one solid OO language)
NICE TO HAVE:
Python
