DATA OFFICER

- Job Title: Data Officer
- CV Submission Deadline: Tuesday 25th November at 12:30pm
- Pay Rate: £200 per day

- Contract Length: Until the end of the financial year with probability of an extension

- Hours total: 640
- Security Clearance Level Required: BPSS with DS
- Will need to be familiar with ARC GIS software's. Practical role. working for Data Manager

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Designing, constructing and testing data transformation routines to translate source data into valid loadable data files for the target system
- Identifying, managing and supporting the resolution of gaps and data quality issues and represent the Team at project meetings
- Determine the scope and detail of the data required to be migrated to the target system.

KEY TASKS & DELIVERABLES:

Task Under direction of Data Manager:

1. Summarise the key data sets, evidence and records that the operations use.
2. Identify client needs from data.
3. Implement improvements 

Capabilities & Experience:

- Knowledge and experience of data management.
- This would ideally be in flood risk management or built/natural environment and would need to include knowledge of the tools and techniques used to manage data.
- Track record of delivery in data management with multiple data types and users.
- Technical skills Experience of ArcGIS (9.3.1 and up), the ESRI stack and RDBMS skills.
- Ability to automate data cleansing and other data processes using python/VBA.
- Must be able to ascertain user data needs in providing maps on demand and mapping templates
