Data Migration Test Analyst

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan, develop, prepare and execute data migration database test cases ensuring the data ETL processes are fully and comprehensively proven through a robust and auditable test approach
- Identify defects with migrated data in the target database from both a data mapping/API/conversion perspective and how the target application will operate functionally on migrated data
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to confirm data requirements to ensure these are catered for in test
- Assist with development of QA plans and scenarios
- Assist in defining structured practices especially in build and release management with regards to source and target data models
- Promote best practices and new methodologies

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years experience on large scale Data Migration/ETL projects, including planning, testing and reconciliation of complex data migration scenarios
- Demonstrable experience of and capability in using multiple technical tools to support a robust data analytics and test approach
- Excellent Advanced SQL skills to enable migration test scripts to be written, executed and reported on at a database level
- Advanced MS Excel skills for data comparisons, Pivots, VLookups etc.
- Knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g is an advantage
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Strong data test analytical skills
- A self-starter with an ability to work to deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Experience of all aspects of software test project life cycles - from test requirements gathering, through test design, test execution and Implementation
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
