DATA MIGRATION SPECIALIST, SC CLEARED, SQL, SSIS

ROLE

The post holder will be responsible for support and development of routines to migrate datasets from disparate sources into a central repository (staging area) to be cleansed and prepared for migration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Sourcing data from internal and external sources.
- Mapping source data to target application, including identification of gaps.
- Working with key business stakeholders to identify data sources and business rules and to understand data standards and issues.
- Development and support of data Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) routines to execute cleansing and transformation logic, based on identified business rules.
- Documentation of implemented data migration logic, with rationale.
- Generation of data reconciliation scripts to confirm accurate data transfer.
- Provision of ad-hoc analysis and clear, concise management information regarding progress/status of migration.
- Identification of systematic data errors and working with both the data provider and the team's DBA to resolve these.
- Early identification and communication of risks & issues, as well as options for mitigation, to appropriate decision-makers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- In depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and previous experience of using SSIS.
- Strong SQL development skills and Datamodelling expertise.
- 3rd level qualification in an IT-related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Strong Interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management and task prioritisation skills.
- Ability to analyse situations and options effectively.
- EXPERIENCE OF IMB TRIRIGA AND/OR PROPERTY/INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE

Candidates MUST be SC/DV Cleared.
