Data Migration Manager

Required: Immediate

Location: Montigny, France/Sunderland, UK

Duration: Initial 3 months - extensions for the duration of project 9-12 -months

French language is highly desirable.

Client is implementing a new European Customer database, consolidating a number of data warehouses in each country into a central repository.

A requirement has arisen for an experienced data migration manager to take ownership and lead the migration activity to ensure a smooth transition of the Legacy data.

ROLE

- Reporting to the Deployment Manager
- Direct reports: 2 members of the Migration Team in the UK
- To effectively and efficiently plan and manage on a day to day basis the data migration from various sources across Europe
- The person will liaise with the external organisation to ensure that the data from these external and internal sources is agreed and delivered to plan to the client for the purpose of data integrity checking and migration.
- They must understand the business criteria and be capable of mapping the business requirements into successful business data migration, with a keen appreciation of business as usual constraints and post project go-live support and maintenance.
- A key requirement is the need to liaise with multi cultural business groups and manage their specific requirements/issues/constraints

PROFILE

- 5 + years experience of understanding business requirements
- 5 + years multi-source database migration experience
- 5 + years experience of managing Datawarehouse sources in across multiple countries
- 5 + year of team management
- Strong leadership qualities
- Thorough technical expertise with Datawarehouse extraction procedures
- Thorough technical expertise with developing, implementing and managing data cleansing routines
- Thorough technical expertise in data migration from different multi company, multi country platforms
- Proven and demonstrable experience of working to tight deadlines in a high pressure environment
- Proven and demonstrable experience of taking control of immediate migration issues and effecting End2End resolution
- Demonstrable planning and management - setting and delivering KPI's
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
