Data Migration Lead

*Data Migration Lead, COBOL IMS/DL1 & .NET SQL, Stakeholder, Team Management, Oxford- 6 months*

A large financial services organisation based in Oxford require an experienced Data Migration Lead who has knowledge of COBOL, IMS/DL1 & .NET SQL as well as Stakeholder and Team Management.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Business SME's and Technical Teams and be accountable for the successful migration of data between the old and new systems. The two main source systems are based on COBOL IMS/DL1 and .net SQL. The data structure of the two source systems are quite different and this needs to be aligned for the single target system.

The roll will include:
* Source system identification
* Data selection
* Data mapping
* Data cleansing
* Migration rules
* Data reconciliation
* Data format conversion
* Data naming
* Data structure alignment
* Migration sequence strategy eg static v dynamic data
* Migration performance testing. Data Migration Lead, Banbury
* Looking for candidates that have led a team in data migration, not looking for data analyst or SAP background
* Ideally looking for someone who worked on Legacy systems
* Need experienced candidates who have led/managed 4,5,6 migrations on different systems
* Finance background preferred but not essential, ideally do want someone who has worked on financial systems
* As part of the role they will be carrying out financial reconciliation on the data and will need to check it before it is moved across to the new system
* They will have 3-4 direct reports but the wider team is approx. 20 that they will have interaction with including SME's, project delivery, Service Delivery and two external vendors (consultancy)
* Candidate needs to have experience of dealing with senior stakeholders as will have to deliver presentations and updates on the progress as needed
* Need someone with high attention to detail
