Data Migration Lead

For our international end client in Amsterdam we are looking for a Data Migration Lead

Start: 25-03-2013
Duration: 9 months with an option to extend
Rate: 70/hr

Responsibilities will include:
Work with the technical team and project manager to define detailed, end to end data migration/transformation plans.
Estimate the amount of work to implement defined plans.
Identify and communicate risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
Lead data migration activities. (The size of the data migration team will be driven by amount of work identified.)
Troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions.

Key requirements for this role include:
In depth understanding of Oracle data architecture (Legacy databases are version 8 & 9, and new versions are 11g)
Very strong knowledge of SampleManager LIMS data structures
5+ years experience with complex data migrations, at least part of which was in a lead role
Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action, giving regard to the impact on both the project and customer organizations
Ability to deal with and resolve ambiguity
Ability to adjust personal style to various situations
Experience working in a virtual team
Strong communications skills
