A requirement has been identified for a management and coordination role to ensure the datasets necessary for delivery of the programme are captured, checked and delivered to users, to agreed timescales, cost and quality. The scope of this role includes the probation reorganisation and people transition and the procurement competition process.

The Data Manager is required to facilitate the gathering of datasets from all sources that enable the delivery of the full suite of Probation Services to the "offender" population. The datasets are likely to be from MoJ and NOMS headquarters, the current 35 Probation Trusts, Prisons, voluntary sector providers and other parties supporting the delivery of these services.

A key feature of the role will be understanding what data is required and how all the data comes together to provide the full data sets required for different users - this will require the post holder to engage with the content of the data.

Key Responsibilities

*To confirm the full scope of the datasets required to meet the Rehabilitation Programme requirements.

*To re-confirm that the datasets required by the business meet the Rehabilitation Programme requirements. See Appendix A.

*To identify the Data Owners, (both local and central), and obtain commitment to source the data in the agreed timescales and appropriate quality

*To coordinate the data gathering exercise to the agreed timescales.

*To ensure the datasets are sanitised and cleansed to meet the Information Assurance requirements of the Datasets being a maximum of IL2 status

*To coordinate the Quality Assurance exercise required to ensure the datasets are complete and have appropriate provenance and approvals (from IAOs) for their datasets to be released into the Data Room for secure external use

*To coordinate the delivery of the authorised, quality datasets, in the defined structure and format and to the agreed security level, to the Procurement Data Room Team in line with the programme plan.

*To ensure the Dataset SPOCs are available to coordinate Questions and Queries, from within their relevant area of expertise, directed by the Procurement Data Room Team from the bidders. To ensure the responses are to fed back to the Data Room Team within agreed SLAs

*To ensure the programme's data requests, quality and management processes comply with the law and with MoJ, NOMS and Trust standards and procedures.

*Attends the Data Board and other relevant meetings.

*Other duties appropriate to the grade.
