Data Management/Reporting Specialist - Business Intelligence - Archite

DATA MANAGEMENT/REPORTING SPECIALIST required, to work on a project for an Global Cargo Supplier.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Data Management/Reporting Specialist required to help to, to migrate a large data center to a new data center.

The migration includes all Servers, databases, applications, etc. Due to the high degree of interfaces and dependencies between Servers, applications, and databases, special care must be taken to migrate these systems as discrete move groups that do not break the needed interfaces and dependencies between them. Because many of these systems are business critical, special care must be taken to ensure the systems are migrated with little or no downtimes or service interruptions.

The main responsibility of you is to use the software applications PENTAHO, JEDOX, AND MONGODB to create reports and applications that pull in data from other applications and databases.

Documentation of these reports is essential to carry out the migration planning and executing because of the high dependency between these reports/mini-apps and other applications/Servers/databases within the data center.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT;

- to investigate the current reporting systems and applications,
- to create essential documentation or update existing documentation
- assess the dependencies and impacts that will affect the migration project. This includes both application dependencies (eg what reports are dependent on which applications? Which are business critical?) but also any technical dependencies (eg are there jobs or applications that have special technical requirements such as LAN or ultra-low-latency connection to applications or data sources)
- estimate the effort required to migrate the reports and applications
- It is a advantage to possess a high degree of architectural know-how in this area in order to recognize any limitations or deficits in the existing environment, and prioritize migration groups.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Must have working knowledge of PENTAHO/JEDOX and other applications as needed
- Must be able to understand the reports and applications, and to quickly and efficiently create a minimal documentation that will be essential for the assessment
- Must be able to assess the current environment in order to identify bottlenecks, migration dependencies
- Must be able to estimate the effort required in the migration of these reports/applications
- Must be able to work independently and have good skills in coordination, time planning. In this role there will not be an overall project manager that directs the day-to-day activities
