This is a 12 month contract opportunity.Overview
Our client is seeking an Oil and Gas Data Integration Specialist (Business/Data Analyst).
The Data Integration Specialist provides solutions for seamless transformation and integration of structured and unstructured data through the appropriate global and local data integration technologies while complying with the established data standards and guidelines.
The Data Integration Specialist has detailed knowledge of data architecture(s) and the underlying data model(s) to enable them to resolve data integration issues and to identify needed enhancements to existing integration technologies.
The Upstream technical data often reside in disparate project and corporate data repositories and/or computer file systems; the Data Integration Specialist supports the requirements for migrating and integrating copies of the data into one or many of the underlying data repositories and/or computer file systems. Role and Responsibilities
- Maintaining supported metadata (eg unique identifier translation tables; data types, standards and lookup tables) across disparate databases
- Assisting with bulk data migrations, data analysis, data formatting, data modelling and transformations
- Defining processes for developing and maintaining linkages across databases and adding links to new databases
- Defining views into databases to present the data in a useable form to end users. Modifying the views, as required, when the data model of the underlying databases change
- Helping resolve data issues by performing data analysis and providing innovative solutions
- Taking a lead role in data integration projects involving requirements definition, analysis and proposing solutions eg merger related database projects
- Maintaining & upgrading scripts used to manipulate & move data between databases and applications
- Configuring portal and spatial products to meet end user requirements
- Performing cartographic transformations loading, exporting, and transforming of data to and from Upstream master and project database(s). (5 - 7 years)
- Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows administration, Shell Scripting, Middleware (Capable) In-depth understanding of databases: Oracle, SQL Server, creating and configuring databases (Capable)
- Read and interpret data models and file structure(s) of widely used Upstream industry master and project databases. PPDM knowledge essential (Capable).
