Projektbeschreibung
The ITR Project KIME (Knowledge and Information Management Environment) will deliver an infrastructure and a catalogue of standard services dedicated to information management. The objective is to support client projects built internally avoiding that each of them develops its own solution.
Purpose of Services:
The mission consists of:
- Aggregating data from different existing patent databases and sources following a standard document model (including text and images)
- Loading the collection in the new database based on the current EPO information management environment building the necessary Data Loading services
- Building standard interfaces for read/write access
The data flow engineer in charge of the development task has to carry out the following tasks, from end-to-end:
- Analysing the existing patent document model
- Identifying existing data source to be used to create the aggregated document representation
- Defining technical requirements and sub-tasks to be realised for creating the aggregated documents
- Programming and testing the document aggregation
- Programming and testing the loading procedure of the documents into the selected document store
- Programming and testing the standard REST interfaces for these services
- Liaison with the project team for testing and acceptance
- Supporting the operation and system during development and test phase
- Writing technical documentation (service catalogue)
Deliverables:
The following products will be delivered to the project team:
- Document aggregation and creation services
- Complete loading of the EPO patent collection
- Service catalogue
Requirements:
The successful candidate has the following skills:
Soft skills:

- Proven experience in agile project management methodologies (Scrum, XP)

- Good communication skills in English and ability to write technical documents
- Entrepreneurship attitude
- Proactive participation in addition to initiative
- Good team player, able to integrate quickly in an open-space environment
- Basic knowledge of patent information
Technical skills:
The selected candidate must have the skills and proven experience in the following techniques and technologies:
- Analytical skills, including data analysis skills
- Object Oriented modelling and design (UML and Design Patterns),
- Service Oriented Architecture (REST)
- Enterprise Integration Patterns and Camel or similar products
- Test driven development in an Agile environment
- Java programming (including -but not limited to- JEE, Web development n-tier technologies and testing tools like jUnit)
- Spring framework and suite of tools
- JBoss Application Server
- XML, XSD
- RDBMS database technologies
- NOSQL database technologies
- Eclipse IDE
- Maven 2
- Jenkins Continuous Integration server
- Nexus artefact repository manager
- BPMN
The preferred candidate will have proven experience in the following domains:
- Groovy and Domain Specific Languages
- XSL, XPATH, XQUERY
- jMeter performance test tool
- Operating Systems: AIX, Linux or zLinux
- DB2
- database interface technologies: ORM, JAXB, Hibernate, JDBC or SQLJ
The following optional skills would also be appreciated:
- Cloud computing
- Ability to understand Cobol, JCL and eGEN
- Middleware products: MQ Series, Stonebranch UDM on Windows, AIX, Linux and Mainframe
