For our client in Zurich, an international bank, we are looking for a Data Entry Supporter (temporary)

YOUR PROJECT

Group Tax is an area of operational taxes.

- Qualified Intermediary (QI) is a US tax and reporting regime that requires foreign financial institutions to document clients, withhold tax on income from US securities and report to the IRS
- QI has undergone major changes since its introduction in 2001 following high profile cases of non-compliance, fines and introduction of other legislation, most notably FATCA.
- In December 2016, the latest QI Agreement was released by the IRS. The main changes are the introduction of a new Compliance Program and Internal Controls Certification requirements.

This project includes updating and enhancing documentation collected to prepare for the first certification under the new QI Agreement.

YOUR TEAM

There are at least two people working on the QI Project but we are part of the Operational Taxes team and work closely with our Broader global team. There will be additional members from other teams also focused on the documentation review team with experience in client onboarding and project teams so it will be a dynamic and diverse team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide support to Global Qualified Intermediary (QI) Team on priority Documentation Remediation Project and gain experience in Tax and Business Analysis
- Review US Tax Documents including Forms W-8IMY, W8BEN-E, W-8BEN, withholding statements and underlying documentation to conclude whether tax documentation received is complete and valid
- Work in Documentation Validation tool to answer list of several questions (many are Yes and No) about what information is provided on the forms and what lines are completed to support conclusion on whether documentation is valid
- Review reasons why documentation is invalid and summarize list of accounts invalid for same or similar reason. Summarize information that can be leveraged for email notification to clients
- Work in excel to review certain data, prioritize client outreach based on certain factors and perform certain business analysis
- Helpful if candidate has experience working in Excel (for example, vlookup or pivot table)
- Coordination activities and project management support as a possibility

CHALLENGES YOU WILL BE FACING IN THIS ROLE:

Reviewing a large number of documents, working to targets and deadline as well as working efficiently

ESSENTIALS SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Education to degree level ideally within a Financial field
- Proficient in MS Office especially experience with working in Excel (vlookup or pivot table and filtering)
- 1-2 years of work experience in a data entry/administrative role within operations
- Excellent reading, writing and communication skills in English
- Fluent English language knowledge

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Any knowledge of regulations or regulatory space, especially in US Qualified Intermediary, would be beneficial
- Any knowledge of technology or comfort using systems, websites and working in a project type environment with deadlines
- Good at data analysis and summarizing information
