Data Engineer - Installation/Tooling/Azure/API - Aviation - Amsterdam - Contract

I have a contract opportunity with a well-established IT & Digital Consultancy in Amsterdam, working on behalf of a major Aviation client, for an experienced Data Engineer, well-versed in working within an Azure Environment to support the Data team, in making sure they have access to all needed data and tooling.

Tasks & Responsibilities: -

- Setup and maintenance of the cluster and gateway infrastructure.
- Installation and updating the Data Science environment and tooling.
- Build, support and schedule data applications, and pipelines.
- Import and transform internal and external data sources.

Desired Skills & Experience: -

- Programming experience (preferably Python, Java, Scala).
- Good experience working within AZURE ENVIRONMENT and able to give advice on important topics such as security, performance and emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with versioning, testing and API technologies like REST and JSON.
- Linux and Command Line tooling.
- Experience in working with Hadoop eco system, comfortable with configuring big data tooling like HDFS, Spark, Hive etc.
- Knowledgeable on databases and query languages like SQL,
- Familiar with setting up ETP pipelines.
- Working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English both written and oral.
