Data Engineer

We are currently searching for a Data Engineer for an interesting international end client in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

This freelance position is for about 6 months with the possibility to extend.

Project description In this role you are involved in making data products and services based on machine learning models and advanced analytics. You will be responsible for development, implementation, testing and maintenance of data products and services. It is based on Microsoft Azure.

Your main responsibilities are:

- Identify technical needs of the organisation.
- Design, implement and test cloud based data infrastructure.
- Convert data product prototypes to data products.

YOUR PROFILE

- Bachelor/Master degree (within the fields of Computer Science/Machine Learning and/or Mathematics/Statistics is preferable but a good working background and results prove your perseverance are also interesting
- You are experienced with building data products, data pipelines, configuration management, CI/CD flows and know how to implement them in a cloud setting.
- You're analytical and a content expert in DS/DE work field ie you know which DE techniques to apply to a business problem at hand and to structure the approach accordingly.
- You have a hacker, hands on mind-set, quitting on problems is no option and you deal with set-backs.
- Programming Language Python has no secrets for you. (R, Scala are nice to have).
- You are confident in at least some of these tools: Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Airflow, Sqoop.
- You understand database language SQL/no_SQL.
- Nice if you have used visualization tools such as Python's Matplotlib, Bokeh. D3.js and Shiny.
