DATA DEVOPS ENGINEER

New year, new job?!

My client is urgently looking for a Data DevOps Engineer to strengthen their Data Lake Content Team.

THE PROJECT:

We are building a state-of-the-art Data Lake. This is an ambitious project based on technologies like IBM InfoSphere (Datastage, TWS-D and Information Governance Catalog), Netezza, Cognos and Hadoop.

YOUR JOB:

You will be responsible of analysing the data and building the physical model at the various stages of the data pipeline - Operational Status, Information Warehouse and Data Marts. The physical modelling method used in our environment is what we call: 'Key-Version' modelling. It's a mix between relational modelling and Data Vault. You will also model our Data Marts, these are modelled by the Dimensional Model method.

You will also spend another day in the sprint designing,developing, testing and deploying IBM Information Server artifacts mainly involving datastage. On another day you will spend time developing cool new frameworks and packages using Cognos Analytics.

Maintaining the applications running in datalake is the operations part of your job. You and your fellow engineers are not only responsible for what you build but also for maintaining and monitoring which includes incident management and bug fixing. You will also be responsible for keeping the operational controls which is a key part of the risk appetite in the bank up to date as well.

YOU PROFILE:

Together with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a DevOps engineer in similar environments we expect you to have experience with the following tools, techniques and way of work:

- DataStage design and development (or similar ETL tooling*)
- Datamodelling like Data Vault, Dimensional modelling, etc.
- Netezza, Oracle, SQL server or similar databases
- Scheduling tools like TWS-d, Autosys
- SQL
- Bash Scripting
- GIT (or similar version control system)
- End-to-end delivery of data integration.
- Fluent communication skills in English and/or Dutch
- Agile development (SCRUM, Kanban)
- Teamplayer
- Reporting tools such as Cognos Analytics, Business Objects etc.
- Development and Operations roles.
- Infosphere Information Server Enterprise Edition suite components like Information Governance Catalog, Information Analyzer etc. (nice to have).
- Programming language like Java/Python (nice to have)
- Hive/Hadoop (nice to have)
