A global Information Solutions consultancy seek an experienced Data Development/Architecture Team Lead to ensure that robust solutions that are easy to support and maintain; alongside innovative propositions that ensure the company is always ahead of the curve in information delivery marketplace.

The Data Development/Architecture Team Lead will have strong IT delivery experience in a client facing environment; advanced technical skills; focused on quality, efficient delivery, challenging, people management experience and good commercial understanding. They will spend their time primarily designing & delivering software solutions in an agile manner to help on boarding new client and orchestrate functional enhancements.

Alongside this the development team lead will assist in the presales estimating activities to support the presales and will provide technical support and guidance to members of the Architecture & Development teams.

The Data Development/Architecture Team Lead needs to be highly IT literate, having hands-on experience, and a good level of commercial understanding. They possess a mixture of technical skills, most significantly strong knowledge requirements creating software design and technical specifications; technical support and direction to developers during project delivery.

Key Development Team Lead responsibilities are:

- Align architectural design with re-usable components for key business initiatives
- Defining and leading the creation of technical specifications for solutions
- Support project sales process by performing estimates from project/new opportunity briefs
- For new projects, representing developing in workshops with a cross-functional team to develop estimated effort for the technical delivery of the project
- Review the BRD, FRS, Technical Designs, developed for projects and feedback issues/questions to BA and Architects
- Designing software solutions that meet client needs and can be quickly understood and developed by Development & QA team members re-using components to evolve to multi-tenanted solutions
- Driving the development technical project delivery ensuring that Best Practices are understood and met.
- Stay up to date with technology and development practices.
- Proactively provide support to Architect & Development team members as appropriate.
- Ensuring architect engagement is maintained will own the solution throughout its lifetime.

The right candidate is able to collaborate with business and technical teams to build solutions for projects and strategic platforms focusing on reusing components and evolving the strategic components. They are able to utilise functional specifications and to design solutions based on those requirements whilst maintaining a wider strategic vision. They challenge the norm and are able to develop innovative propositions. Experience of working in fast paced, high pressure environment, such as Professional Service or Consulting based, would be a benefit. Essential Skills:

- Experience developing Microsoft .NET C# (Supporting Web and Window Services).
- Experience developing Java Scripting.
- Detailed knowledge of DOS Scripting.
- Detailed working knowledge of Relational Databases (SQL Server 2005/2008).
- A thorough understanding of development practices such as agile development, source code control, change management and documentation.
- Understanding and exposure to development techniques such as unit testing, test driven development, continuous integration, refactoring techniques etc.
- Understanding of development methodologies and processes.
- Business facing, excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of security issues, coding best practices and infrastructural design (PCI DSS).
- Ability to advise the business on development solutions, taking into account business deliverable and acceptance criteria for architectural deliverables.
- Understanding of development methodologies and processes.
- Understanding of Object Oriented architectures and approaches.
- Understanding of SOA.
