Our hugely popular client is seeking a highly motivated Data Collection Support Engineer to join the growing user research and data collection team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, good with people, and comfortable working with internal customers and participants in the field. This position requires the ability to work with minimal direction, the capacity to work quickly, and be flexible while delivering high-quality results. Having an eye for process improvement is critical as we will look to the data collection support engineers for input on how to evolve our collection processes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct data collection projects including setup and verification of all system components, troubleshooting during live sessions, ensuring data integrity and upload, and documenting best practices
- Apply knowledge of wireless and networking technologies, mobile devices and quality assurance practices to ensure that connected devices meet all target requirements and produce a superior customer experience
- Examine processes and available tool sets to ensure the most accurate results
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and to deliver on time
- Perform quick, but thorough, data analysis in order to drive the highest quality through all phases of data collection
- Act with a high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications, a similar field, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of networking experience including troubleshooting network systems
- Extensive knowledge of LANs, Routers, IP assignment, DHCP
- Demonstrated ability to browse file systems and diagnose errors using log files
- Proven track record of using data to analyze issues, make decisions and generate various solutions
- Rudimentary Linux knowledge
- Exposure to Shell environments and familiarity with man command and grep
- Basic Scripting experience
- Experience with hard drive Raid
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional attention to details, ability to follow through, and strong organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Hands-on experience with all aspects of data collections
- Experience with speech and language data collection and processing
- Knowledge of audio signal quality measures
- Experience with hardware components
- Experience with Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting, Perl, Python or Java
- Strong ability and methodology to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues
