Data Centre Transition Technical Analyst

THE ROLE:

Data Centre Practitioner with strong analytical skills required for initial 3 month contract with a enterprise scale Federal government agency.

This challenging role will see you coordinating network functionality along with the planning and documentation of required upgrades or modifications. You will also be working with other technical staff and end-users to ensure smooth operation and full connectivity between systems.

There will be the opportunity for involvement with several upcoming projects, including a planned WAN upgrade.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Technical research on network upgrades and components - including compatibility with current systems, cost and timeframes required to complete the upgrade
- Recommend network solutions for network projects
- Determine plan layout for new hardware or modifications to existing layout
- Planning and coordinating of tasks relating to the implementation, installation and testing of network hardware, software and data networks.
- Provide network documentation, training and guidance to ICT network administrators
- Establish user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed
- Work with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems

To be considered for this role you will require proven expertise within a Data Centre environment with the ability to rapidly come up to speed in a new technical environment.

Build relationships with a team of systems administrators while also working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

Some exposure to technical writing would also be an advantage.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- An NV1 Security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Australian citizenship

This role will provide you with challenging subject matter in a large and complex IT environment. It is a broad role that will provide exposure to a range of special projects along with the 'business as usual' work and would suit and would suit an experienced Data Analyst looking for something a little extra.
