Projektbeschreibung

My Client requires a DataCentre Engineer to provide onsite and remote support on all types of hardware and software. You will work on shifts as an onsite technician, execute remote hands instruction from client to ensure their IT infrastructure is stable. The role also involves cabling, install & addressing customer escalations in this 24x7 DataCentre. The field engineer will also create and maintain process and installation document and take a lead role on assigned projects. S/he will train and coach new staff members and 3rd party engineers. The engineer will also be on call-out.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Equipment installation (Cisco, Juniper, Fujitsu, HP, Ciena etc.) including cabling work.

Problem determination, troubleshooting and in-depth analysis.

Customer provisioning work.

Supporting proposed projects, track detailed plan schedules. Participating in project calls.

Share knowledge and support other MOW field engineers when needed.

Performing technical analysis of hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations.

Managing external interfaces with Telehouse, 3rd party supplier and PTT's for provisioning and maintenance tasks.

Managing internal interfaces with SD (Service Delivery), PIMs (Project Implementation Manager), NRCs (Network Reliability Centers), GAM (Global Access Management) and TP&E (Technical Planning & Engineering).

Directing and controlling the activities of 3rd party field technicians.

Supporting configuration updates. Documenting and reporting action items. Keep processes and documentation up to date on Share Point.

Managing 3rd party vendor relationships.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

3yrs+ working in a data centre environment, including cable & server installation/maintenance.

5yrs+ dealing with customers face-to-face

3yrs+ working in a shift environment

Current server maintenance skills

Current cable installation, testing and troubleshooting skills

Customer focused & pro-active attitude.

Self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision and flexible in their approach towards work & work hours.

Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques, and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical problems.

Communicates vision/direction and helps others understand how their work contributes to objectives.
